Spring has Sprung...

...and Spring Break is coming to an end for me!  It was a good week off, a good change of routine.  No trip out of town, but enjoyed a variety of activities.  Started the week with a family dinner at home with everyone in attendance.  Mike and Corissa surprised me with a bouquet of tulips; Cailyn brought me a beautiful "mosaic" bouquet of flowers that she made from colorful foam pieces.  I made meatballs and boneless pork ribs in the Italian "gravy" with rigatoni pasta and salad.

I enjoyed a morning of shopping with Alissa on Monday, lunch with Alissa & Alan as well at Pita Jungle...love the pita chips and hummus!

Tuesday was my "play day" with Landon! What a busy boy and so full of personality!  We played cars and trucks, a few puzzles, and listened to his favorite songs.  Right now he loves "the ants go marching" and marches to the music as well!  Not too many 2 year olds enjoy "reading" the latest issue of Consumer Reports, but Landon does.  In fact, he kept going back to the magazine to look at "more cars"!

We played outdoors awhile, and Landon loves to swing and ride in the wagon. He also enjoys pretending with the kitchen and play food.

He enjoys eating, so we spent a good 40 minutes on lunch, eating his ham and cheese and fruit.  He is delightful and pleasant, and even when Mimi accidently bumped his head as we came in the backdoor, he started to whimper, held his hand up to his head and said "I be OK"...and that was that!

Wednesday, I was able to catch up with my sister for a bagel, coffee and conversation rendezvous!! It was great to see Terry again! It was also my "hair day", cut and color, very important!  Spent a little time with my folks late afternoon.  Mom and Dad both had some medical procedures this week, so took some food over to help; Vince also helped them pick oranges up high in their trees.  Our Texas Laurel trees "popped" earlier this week, and the purple blossoms are so pretty and fragrant.  My allergies also kicked in this week, so couldn't spend too much time outdoors enjoying the nicer weather. I enjoyed watching a few movies, and reading everyday.

Thursday was Cailyn's turn for "play day" with Mimi!  We had lots of fun with the dollhouse, playing with play dough, and we worked on a craft for Easter. She is very adept at using glue, scissors and writes her own name already!

We walked to the neighborhood park and played on the slides and in the sand...

and we put puzzles together after lunch.  Cailyn requested "mac n cheese" (her favorite at my house)..and we had time to read a few books too.

Vince took one day off (Friday) so we got a few chores done around the house/garage. On Saturday we enjoyed a nice breakfast in downtown Gilbert at the Farmhouse, and then walked around the Farmer's Market and Artwalk.  Figure there's only a few more weeks left until it will be too warm to enjoy the market.  I bought some beautiful tomatoes, romaine lettuce, a loaf of bread AND delicious almond cookies!  We enjoyed meeting friends for a movie last night and ate at Jason's Deli.  This morning after mass, Jen and Nick invited us to join them for breakfast at "The Henhouse" a local breakfast cafe.  We enjoyed hearing stories about their day trip to Jerome, Arizona yesterday.

Well, come Monday, it's back to work, back to the gym, back on a diet! ;-(
